Photographs - Exterior & Afloat

Here is an assortment of the best photographs I have received to date of Seacrackers afloat and on the hard. Several of the boats below have yet more photos under the "interior" section. Click on photo to see a much better quality image of each.

SP3.jpg (139898 bytes) Sergeant Pepper

At anchor in Sandy Cove near Kinsale, Ireland (August 2001) - the radar reflector has now been moved to a fixed bracket on the front of the mast.

Sgt Pepper Penarth 3.jpg (285445 bytes)

Sergeant Pepper

Cardiff has a spectacular barrage system with three lock gates which cope with the 13 meter rise and fall of the tide.  To enter just after low tide is quite an experience as they flood the locks.

Sergeant Pepper

Not an award winning photograph but it does show her keel and rudder well.
Sergeant Pepper

I'm guessing this is from her early racing days on the west coast.

Pegasus1.jpg (189710 bytes) Pegasus

Pegasus is Sergeant Pepper's sister. Pictured here in Holyhead in late 2001, she was built at the same time as Sgt. Pepper, the two owners working nearby each other.

It's a great photograph if you download the full image. She is owned by Mike Philips - and I would love to have some photos of her interior (please?)

Judging by the number of other boats, this almost has to be in the Solent?

That's more like it!

East coast?

98168.jpg (1328081 bytes) Tilman

Yes - it's a yawl rigged Seacracker 33 with a bowsprit! Tilman is owned by Alef Burghouts whose homeport is Wageningen. This is on the river Rhine 20, kilometers downstream of Arnhem, approximately three quarters of an hour drive from Amsterdam.

An interesting view of the mizzen.

The chain locker doesn't have a triangular hatch but two inspection hatches on each side. The windlass is installed in the middle of the deck and supported by the bulkhead of the chain locker. Alef uses the windlass to fix an additional stay for the jib and storm-jib, because the Genoa is on the furling system.

2.jpg (16552 bytes) Mabena

This is on the Intra-coastal waterway in the USA (East Coast).

On her mooring in New Orleans before the hurricane. Apparently only the awning was lost despite serious destruction in the marina. Note the aluminium toe rail.

Merlin

Merlin's first owner sailed her to South Africa and the Caribbean. She is now berthed in Hartlepool Marina.

She looks like she has been very well cared for.
